Over-the-counter pain medications can be used to manage pain and discomfort after the anesthesia wears out. When a difficult extraction is anticipated a referral may be made to an Oral Surgeon at our office for extraction using oral sedation or to a specialist oral surgeon's office/hospital to get the extraction done under general anesthesia.
