We Accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan in London
Overview of the Canadian Dental Care Plan
The Government of Canada started rolling out the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP). The plan aims to make dental care more accessible for eligible families and to provide financial assistance for dental treatments. Regular professional and preventive dentistry at Cosmo Dental Centre helps reduce the risk of gum disease and tooth decay. Preventive care is crucial as it can also protect against severe health problems. The CDCP initiative helps reduce the risk of serious health issues linked to poor oral health.
The Government uncovered that about one-third of Canadians lacked dental insurance, and in 2022, many were avoiding the dentist due to financial constraints. The CDCP was introduced to address the issue by offering a publicly funded dental benefit which started in May 2024, specifically created to support those without private or workplace dental insurance.
The CDCP is administered by Health Canada in collaboration with, Employment Social Development Canada (ESDC) and Sun Life. Sun Life is administering the CDCP for the Government of Canada by providing claim processing services for the qualifying applicants.
