What’s a dental crown?
A dental crown is a cap fitted over a broken or damaged tooth to improve its appearance, shape, and alignment. A porcelain crown is placed on top of an implant, offering a tooth-like shape and functional structure. Dental crowns can be colour-matched to your teeth to look as natural as possible.

Reinforce a tooth that’s been weakened from a large dental filling or root canal treatment when the natural tooth is no longer sufficiently strong
-

-

Our dental crown services
The dental crown procedure typically involves two visits. The first visit involves preparing the tooth by removing decay or damage and shaping it to accommodate the crown. The dentist will then take impressions of the tooth and the surrounding area, which will be sent to a dental laboratory where the permanent crown will be custom-made.
To protect the prepared tooth, the dentist typically places a temporary crown over it until the permanent one is ready. This temporary crown is usually made of acrylic and is held in place with temporary cement.
The second visit, usually a few weeks later, is when you get the permanent crown placed. During this visit, the dentist will remove the temporary crown and check the shape, colour and fit of the new crown. If everything looks good, the dentist will bond the permanent crown to the tooth using a strong dental cement.
